How to use Google Chirp 3 HD Voices in your AI Agent

When building a production-grade AI agent, the voice you choose directly impacts user trust, latency, and overall engagement. Google has set a new standard for natural, human-like speech with Google Chirp 3.

In this post, we are benchmarking the newest Chirp 3 HD voices. You can listen to real-world audio tests of specific Google Chirp voices including Aoede, Kore, Leda, Zephyr, Charon, Fenrir, Orus, and Puck to hear exactly how they handle tone, pacing, and complex conversational nuances.

Step 1 – Check out the Voices

• Log into the Syllable Console
• Click the Voices tab, then select New Voice Group
• Name your new Language Group
• Add the default language. Supported languages include English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Mandarin with more on the way
• Pick Google as the voice provider
• Listen to samples of the Chirp 3 HD voices like Aoede, Fenrir, or Kore by clicking the speaker icon
• Tweak the Voice Speed and Pitch to your liking

Step 2 – Connect the new Language Group to your AI Agent

• Go to the Agents tab
• Select your AI Agent
• Click Edit
• In the Language Group dropdown, select the group that you just created
• Click Save

Step 3 – Update your Agent's Opening Message

• Open the Messages tab
• Select your Message and then click Edit
• Locate the point in your message where you'd like your agent to offer additional languages
• Click the Language Toggle Tool to add the voice/language menu to your message
• Click Save

Your agent now uses Google's Chirp 3 HD voices and sounds amazing in multiple languages.
